Chapter 330: Ice-and-fire deluxe treatment
Chapter 330: Ice-and-fire deluxe treatment
In an instant, a cold and violent aura exploded outward from Vincent’s body.
"Mn..."
A muffled groan escaped his throat as his long fingers suddenly curled tight, clutching the sheets beneath him so hard the veins on the back of his hand bulged violently, as though he were enduring unimaginable agony.
"He’ll be alright... won’t he?" Rory stared at Vincent anxiously.
As more and more of her blood flowed into his body, his reactions became increasingly intense.
Yuel observed Vincent carefully.
The moment the readings on the monitor neared their peak threshold, he immediately walked over, removed the needle from Rory’s arm, and pressed gently against the puncture site before helping her to her feet.
"Rory, he’s about to undergo Nirvana. We need to get out first."
"So soon?" Rory nodded immediately. "Okay."
The two of them had barely turned to leave when—
Bzzzz
A terrifying surge of energy suddenly erupted outward with Vincent at its center. A faint golden radiance flickered weakly from the center of his chest.
At first, it was only a tiny spark, fragile as the dying flame of a candle. Then it ignited. The fire spread outward from his heart. Inside the medical pod, the temperature skyrocketed instantly.
"Xarion!"
Supporting Rory with one arm, Yuel called sharply toward the outside.
"I’m coming!" The medical pod doors slid open. A blast of freezing air swept inside as Xarion rushed in at full speed.
The first thing he did was look Rory over carefully. Only after confirming she appeared unharmed did he finally relax.
"Female Master, go outside first. I’ll handle things here."
After so much blood extraction, Rory still looked surprisingly well.
Xarion had no idea how she had managed it, but as long as she was safe, that was all that mattered.
"Be careful."
Rory cast one last glance toward Xarion and Vincent—whose body was already beginning to disappear beneath blazing flames—before quickly leaving the pod alongside Yuel.
The instant the doors closed behind them, the entire medical pod froze solid.
Layer upon layer of thick ice spread rapidly across every surface. Only the treatment bed beneath Vincent remained untouched by Xarion’s frost.
The flames consuming Vincent’s body grew larger and larger, transforming into a roaring inferno. The surrounding ice began melting almost immediately. The water never even had time to drip before it was completely vaporized by the unbearable heat.
Xarion continuously released wave after wave of freezing power, desperately reinforcing the ice around the pod to prevent Vincent’s flames from burning through the structure and erupting outside.
As time passed, the flames around Vincent gradually began to weaken, until they nearly vanished altogether.
Then—
"SKREEEE—!"
A clear, piercing cry rang out across heaven and earth.
The cry of a firebird.
It echoed like a divine call from the dawn of creation itself, reverberating throughout the entire Central District.
An enormous explosion of energy detonated outward. Xarion was blasted violently through the air.
The medical pod disintegrated into ashes instantly.
Then a colossal golden firebird shot upward into the sky. Golden divine flames blazed around it like a second sun suspended above the world. Massive fireballs rained down continuously from the heavens.
Everywhere they struck turned instantly into scorched wasteland.
"Paros! Get over here and help!"
Xarion roared furiously as his body transformed midair into an enormous white wolf.
A violent blizzard surged upward toward the gigantic golden firebird in the sky.
At the same moment, Paros—who had been guarding outside the villa—had already sensed the catastrophic energy fluctuation.
Without hesitation, black dragon scales spread across his body. In an instant, he transformed into a massive black dragon and soared into the heavens.
"I’m here!"
Paros’s voice boomed like thunder across the sky.
Countless torrents of water erupted into the air like crashing waterfalls, spiraling around the enormous firebird before cascading downward.
Xarion immediately froze the rushing waters solid with his ice abilities, creating towering walls of reinforced ice that sealed Vincent within.
The falling golden fireballs slammed violently against the frozen walls. Each impact exploded with deafening force.
Very quickly, enormous craters formed across the frozen walls, their edges already beginning to melt beneath the terrifying heat.
The golden firebird in the sky seemed to have completely lost its mind.
Bathed in divine flames, every beat of its wings unleashed an even more violent inferno.
Larger and larger fireballs began raining down like a meteor storm, densely flooding the sky.
By now, Yuel had already evacuated Rory and the others aboard the battleship, moving them far beyond the estate grounds.
"The ice walls won’t hold much longer!"
The horrifying heat radiating from the barriers was nearly burning Xarion’s ice abilities dry.
"Then reinforce them!"
Paros pushed his power harder, summoning even more torrents of water from the heavens.
They could not harm Vincent.
Nor could they openly battle him within the Central District.
All they could do was defend passively like this.
The white wolf and black dragon flew side by side through the sky, pouring their abilities into the frozen walls without restraint, continuously repairing the spreading cracks and melting breaches.
Standing aboard the battleship, Rory watched the live surveillance feed with a grave expression.
"Is this really what Firebird Nirvana looks like?"
"This is terrifying..."
"At this rate, Xarion and Paros won’t be able to hold out much longer."
"I already contacted Vangar."
Yuel’s gaze remained fixed on the enormous firebird blazing across the sky, his own expression equally grim.
"He should be here soon."
Something about Vincent’s condition felt wrong.
A Firebird Clan Nirvana was never supposed to look like this.
Yuel was still deep in thought when a brilliant streak of silver tore through the heavens.
It appeared above the battleship almost instantaneously.
Vangar landed on the deck like a descending meteor, tall and imposing as ever.
The moment he saw the gigantic firebird rampaging uncontrollably through the sky, his brows knotted sharply together.
Then he swore outright.
"Holy shit."
He had only gone back to the military for a short while.
How the hell had Vincent ended up like this already?
Did getting sent back to his clan by Rory drive him insane?
Vangar lifted his gaze toward the berserk golden firebird and the struggling black dragon and white wolf below before shouting at them:
"You two seriously still building him little ice houses up there? You think he’s not burning hot enough already, so you’re trying to give him some ice-and-fire deluxe treatment?"
His voice carried perfectly across the battlefield.
Xarion froze mid-cast, his wolf face filled with confusion.
"What does that even mean?"
Paros tilted his massive dragon head slightly as well, equally lost.
"It means this idiot’s about to explode from the power inside him!"
Before the last word even fell, Vangar transformed into a dazzling streak of silver light and shot straight toward the raging golden firebird.
A thunderous explosion erupted across the sky.
Silver light and golden divine fire collided head-on, detonating in a burst of blinding brilliance.
Enraged, the firebird unleashed an even sharper cry.
It had finally found something to vent its fury upon.
All of its violent power and blazing wrath immediately focused on the silver figure daring to challenge it.
In the next instant, countless golden fireballs flooded toward Vangar like torrential rain.
His figure weaved fluidly through the inferno, silver light flashing endlessly amidst the storm of fire.
He looked almost absurdly relaxed.
He even had time to glance downward at the stunned wolf and dragon below.
"You two just gonna stand there watching? When he burns a hole through the Central District, you can both go build nests in interstellar prison!"
While dodging each attack, Vangar carefully tracked every movement Vincent made.
Though it looked like he was merely evading desperately, he was actually guiding the firebird’s attacks little by little, subtly steering its direction through the sky.
"So what do we do?" Paros shouted.
They could neither injure Vincent nor restrain him. For a moment, they were completely helpless.
"Stop building ice walls around him already. They’re useless. They won’t trap him, and they won’t stop him."
Vangar twisted casually to avoid a fireball the size of a millstone. It barely missed his clothes, the scorching heat whipping past him in a violent wave.
He clicked his tongue in annoyance at the singed edge of his sleeve.
"You two—left and right flank. Drive him toward the Divine Fallen Battlefield."
The Divine Fallen Battlefield?
Xarion and Paros exchanged a glance. Instantly, they understood Vangar’s plan.
Vangar opened a communication line to Yuel.
"Evacuate civilians and clear a path. I’m taking him out of the Central District and heading for the Divine Fallen Battlefield."
Yuel replied immediately.
"It’s already being handled. The evacuation will be complete in five minutes. Marshal, hold on for five more minutes."
