Chapter 353: Three Heads Rolling in Confusion
Chapter 353: Three Heads Rolling in Confusion
Thud! Thud!
Under the still atmosphere, Thoren slowly summoned his undead elite squad. The undead Storm Tyrant stood valiantly behind him.
On his right was the undead Royalty Stonewall, on his left was the undead Elite Jackal Beastman, and lastly was the undead Guild Captain.
Their mere presence alone made the air tremble, and a suffocating pressure hung in the air.
The quiet backyard seemed to sink beneath their combined aura.
Even the faint wind that had been moving through the abandoned building appeared to slow down.
With the vanguard present, Thoren stared at the quiet building, and a sharp glint flashed through his eyes. Through the undead Echo Scarabs, he had already detected the location of all the Slave Trade Guild members.
Every room.
Every corridor.
Every hidden corner.
Immediately, he positioned the undead Guild Captain at the front exit while he positioned the undead Elite Jackal Beastman at the backyard exit door.
With both the front door and back door guarded, there would be no easy escape.
The corner of his lips curled upward.
"Go..." he commanded through the mental link.
Instantly, the undead Storm Tyrant and the undead Royalty Stonewall walked steadily toward the door.
They advanced with the terrifying calmness of executioners entering a prison cell.
Meanwhile, inside the building, there were many smaller rooms filled with captives and guild members resting.
Some were discussing in hushed voices, while some were drinking an unknown liquid with relish.
The building looked broken from the outside, but inside, it was deeper and more organized than ordinary eyes could see.
Narrow passages connected the rooms together.
Old wooden doors lined both sides of the corridor.
The faint smell of blood, alcohol, sweat, and medicine lingered in the stale air.
Creak! Creak!
Thud! Thud!
Inside the narrow passage that connected all the rooms together, soft, heavy steps echoed.
"Do you hear that?" one of the men asked, frowning slightly.
"Hear what?" another replied lazily, still holding a cup in his hand.
Before they could react, the door to their room was pushed open, and a figure draped in a black cloak appeared before them.
This!
Whoosh!
An object flashed before their eyes at a breathtaking speed while their instincts screamed of imminent danger.
Thud!
While their instincts screamed, their reactions were a fraction slower. In quick succession, three heads rolled on the ground with their faces still filled with confusion and shock.
The cups in their hands fell to the floor.
The unknown liquid spilled across the wooden boards, mixing with the blood spreading from their severed necks.
Without hesitation, the undead Royalty Stonewall walked out of the room and approached the next room.
Just as it reached the next room, the door to the room was pushed open, and a young woman with a deep scar on her cheek appeared.
"Fuck!" she shouted.
Her reaction was swift and decisive. She reached out to the blade hanging on her waist, preparing for battle, but how could the undead Royalty Stonewall give her the chance?
Whoosh!
The deadly blade strike appeared before her in a blink.
Ahhhhh!
A soul rending scream escaped from her lips as her right arm and some of her bones were cleaved apart. She crashed against the wall, and blood splattered into the air.
The blade she had tried to draw clattered to the ground beside her.
Ignoring her pain, she wanted to rush to her feet and escape.
But then...
Whoosh!
Her head separated from her neck, and her body collapsed to the ground. Everything happened in less than three seconds.
From the room, the woman’s team rushed out, only to welcome the cold, terrifying blade.
Ahhhh!
A short, sturdy young man failed to react quickly and was split into two from head to toe. Blood and innards fell to the ground.
"Die!" a figure shouted.
He jumped forward and struck with his spear. Unfortunately, that was a mistake.
Bang!
The moment the spear collided with the blade, it shattered into pieces without any fanfare. Seeing this, the young man widened his eyes and prepared to retreat, but it was too late.
Just then, a ball of fire zoomed toward the undead Royalty Stonewall at a blazing speed, impossible to dodge. Seeing this, the young man could not help but breathe a sigh of relief.
’I am saved!’ So he thought.
But to his shock, the cloaked figure ignored the fire, and the blade strike continued.
"Nooooo!" he screamed as fear gripped his heart.
Thud!
His head separated from his neck in one swift motion. Blood gushed into the air like a broken pipe.
Without looking at the fallen figure, the undead Royalty Stonewall shifted its attention to the last figure in the room.
A lean young man.
The lean young man held a staff and began to chant a spell as quickly as possible.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Deadly blades appeared out of thin air, rushing toward the undead Royalty Stonewall.
Bang! Bang!
It ignored the wind blades crashing into its body. Yet, the attack did not leave a scratch.
Slowly, it raised its blade and struck.
Bang!
The mage’s body was cleaved into two, and blood splattered against the wall.
Swift and brutal.
While the undead Royalty Stonewall was dealing with the second room, all the Slave Trade Guild members had been alerted by the battle noise.
They rushed out of their rooms and stared at the two cloaked figures in the passage.
"Kill!" they screamed.
This time, it was the undead Storm Tyrant that took the lead.
Against the incoming broadsword, its massive hammer slammed into the blade’s flat side, knocking it out of the warrior’s hand.
The terrifying force from the collision tore off the flesh from his palm, showing all the white bones on his fingers.
Seeing this, the warrior was stunned and halted his movement.
’I am dead!’ That was his last thought before his head was smashed into pieces.
The hammer came down like a falling mountain.
Bang!
His skull exploded instantly, and his body dropped heavily to the floor.
